About Lexie Vay
I discovered very early on that I loved to make music. In third grade, I was cast as Gretl in a local high school’s production of The Sound of Music. I fell in love with the stage, so my parents put me in voice lessons with a local teacher. I studied with him for five years before COVID shut down his studio and left me without a teacher for a year. Thankfully, the Zoom era provided me with the opportunity to take voice lessons with Ashley Jordan at Singing Pro Vocal Studios, where I trained primarily in Pop and Country music. I studied with her until the end of high school when I began studying Musical Theater repertoire with Mackenzie Bykowski. Over the course of those early years, I developed a deep fascination for vocal technique as I began to discover that the key to singing difficult songs is finding freedom and openness in your throat rather than straining it.
After high school, I began studying Drama at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where I am currently in my third year of training with an anticipated graduation in 2028. As I began my first year of training, I fell more in love with music and storytelling, but I also knew I had a desire to teach and connect with the next generation of artists, so I began my minor in Theater Education at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development.
In my second year of college, in addition to my classes, I began teaching voice lessons through Cadence Music Company and taking on private clients. In spring of 2026, I was granted the opportunity of a teaching fellowship at Young Singer’s Academy, where I study the “Vielka Method” under Vielka Kelly-Weiss herself.
I believe everyone can sing and every one of us is born with the ability and desire to create. My goal is to help develop the artist already inside each person in a safe and supportive environment. I believe, as Eric Booth put it, that 80% of what you teach is who you are. My first goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to be generous and kind people, and I strive to create an environment where that is modeled for them. Singing is not who I am; it's what I do, and I hope my students will recognize the truth in that for themselves.
Service-minded
Our musicianship is about bringing joy to others not glory to ourselves. We are a community driven effort to uplift artists and to teach them to uplift others.

Original
Each one of us is gifted with a unique voice and unique taste. We want to help you discover who you are as an individual and how that translates into your artistry so your voice is the most you it can be.
Assured
At SVA we believe our worth is in our humanity, not just talent or work ethic. A student's value is not in their skills but in their inherent value as human-beings.
Refreshed
Singing is our time to leave our problems at the door and enjoy the natural gifts our bodies give us through our voices.
